Classical singer, Katherine Jenkins is set to sing at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday February 20 at a concert organised by the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust for the charity Cornerstone.
The Welsh star will be supported by the Aberdeen-based chamber choir Con Anima.
Edel Harris, chief executive of Cornerstone, said: “Katherine is a hugely popular and high-profile recording artist and I am positive the evening will be a huge success.
“The money raised on the night will help Cornerstone provide specialist support and services to adults, young people and children in the North-east who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and other complex needs.”
Lord Provost George Adam said: “We are absolutely thrilled Katherine Jenkins has agreed to perform in Aberdeen for the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust.”
He added: “With the superb backing of Aberdeen choir Con Anima this will be a fantastic night for music fans, and we expect the tickets to sell very quickly.”
In 2013 Katherine Jenkins rendition of Requiem for a Soldier at the Aberdeen AECC left no dry eye in the house.
