A lifeboat will be transporting a very special passenger this weekend to his north-east grotto.
The Fraserburgh lifeboat crew will pick up Santa Claus at a position just off the port’s harbour this morning.
Two rockets will be fired to mark his arrival before he takes his first steps ashore at 10.30am.
Victor Sutherland, the lifeboat’s coxswain, said all of the volunteers helping to bring Christmas to the town were looking forward to Santa’s visit.
He said: “His sleigh is already here and his two elves will be on the lifeboat for his arrival.
“I think we’re going to have a really good day for it and it’s always very well supported. We’re expecting a good couple of hundred people down on the pier to see him coming in and that’s brilliant.
“We really can’t thank everybody enough for coming out to support us. This is a thank you back to the community for them.”
From the harbour, Santa will take his sleigh through the Broch heartland, led by Fraserburgh Royal British Legion Pipe Band and escorted by the lifeboat crew to the town centre.
His parade will take him through the town’s Kirk Brae, Broad Street, Commerce Street, Cross Street, High Street, and will finish at Broad Street where Santa has set up his magical Grotto in Cheers Cafe Bar and Tavern where children of all ages can visit him.
Meanwhile the annual Boxing Day Swim is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 26 at noon.
The man in red will also be appearing in neighbouring Macduff, where he will be diving into the fish tank to feed the sea life at 2pm.
He will dive again tomorrow and on December 19 and December 20 at the same time.
