Police in the north-east’s biggest town are seeking to return stolen goods after a spate of recent thefts.
It comes after a 27-year-old man appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court facing 10 charges including fraud, theft and housebreaking.
A police spokesman said: “While many victims have been reunited with their belongings, there are still electrical items, jewellery and personal items in police possession.
“Police are urging anyone in the Peterhead area who may have lost belongings, or feel they have recently been the victim of theft, to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
Officers have also issued a reminder to homeowners to keep their homes safe over Christmas.
Detective Sergeant, Sam Buchan, said: “We are urging residents to make sure their properties are secure and do not provide an open invitation to thieves.
“This includes making sure that doors and windows are locked and that high-value goods or items such as Christmas presents are not left in open view.
“Only open windows of the room you are in and do not leave valuables in clear view.
“Home security is vital and that follows for any garages, sheds and outbuildings. Given the valuable property that is stored in a typical family dwelling these days, it is paramount that home owners take the security of outbuildings as seriously as their homes.”
DS Buchan also urged residents to act as “good neighbours”, particularly towards older or vulnerable people, by keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity.
