A heartbroken wife has paid tribute to her beloved husband who died less than a week after they were married.
George and Cathy Hosie met 36 years ago and were married at home in Aberdeen on December 8, eight days after Mr Hosie, 73, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He lost his battle with the illness and died six days after the ceremony.
His wife described him as a kind, loving person and a family man.
Mr Hosie, who grew up in Torry, was heavily involved in the fishing industry and ran his own business GH Fish.
He was also a keen football fan and sailed to Paris for the World Cup in 1998 as part of the ‘Tartan Navy’.
George and Cathy will be familiar faces to many in Aberdeen for running the kayaks at Duthie park for many years.
George’s funeral will be held on Tuesday at Hazlehead Creamatorium’s Wesy Chapel from 11:45am.
