The public is being invited to have its say on a proposed new Highland League football ground for the north-east.
Last month, Cove Rangers lodged a proposal of application notice with Aberdeen City Council for a 300-seater stadium at Bobby Calder Park, Altens.
A public meeting will take place later today, at the Thistle Hotel in Altens, where the community will have a chance to view the proposals for the first time.
The new facility is being planned after the club’s previous ground, Allan Park, which has been sold on and is now earmarked for a residential scheme from developers Barratts.
Club chairman Keith Moorhouse says the plans will put the club in the “right direction”.
He said: “The plans going on public view is another step in the right direction.
“As with all matters of this type a process has to be followed so it is difficult to set any kind of accurate timetable.
“As someone who has lived in Cove for more than 20 years I am delighted the council recognised the need provide first-class sporting facilities for the south side of the city.
“What we plan to build will benefit the whole of the Cove community, not just the football club.”
Cove currently plays its home matches at the grounds of four other north-east sides, Inverurie Loco, Formartine United, Banks O’Dee, and Keith FC.
Mr Moorhouse added: “Having to travel to every match is not the best way to prepare, but everyone, the management, the players, and the army of volunteers who work behind the scenes, have done wonders to ensure we cope.
“I can assure them the day will come when they will be able to work out of a modern facility that will be the pride of everyone at Cove.”
The club hopes to move into the new ground next year, if the council approves the plans.
A new £30million academy, which will replace Torry and Kincorth schools, has also been planned for the Calder Park site.
