A flood alert has been issued in the central Highlands this morning following high levels of rainfall over Christmas Eve night.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has declared an orange-level flood alert for the regions of Findhorn, Moray, Nairn and Speyside.
Those in low-lying areas or those with properties or businesses close to bodies of water have been urged to be on the watch for rising waters.
A statement from SEPA said: “Following heavy overnight rain levels in the Spey are very high.
“Flooding to low lying land is likely. Levels have started to drop on Thursday morning in the upper Spey but downstream will continue to rise before peaking later on Thursday.
“Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.”
Advice and information regarding flooding is available 24 hours a day by calling SEPA’s Floodline phone service on 0345 9881188.
