Douglas Edwardson was put into an induced coma after the accident on the A944 Alford-Aberdeen road, near Dunecht, on December 16. But the 58-year-old, who was head of housing for Aberdeenshire Council, died three weeks after the incident. Mr Edwardson had moved from the Banff and Buchan area to Alford, where he was active in Howe Trinity Parish Church. His funeral will be held at the church on December 30 at 1pm. His family have asked for donations to the Social Bite charity in lieu of flowers.
