Residents across Aberdeen are being reminded that there will be no waste and recycling collections on New Year’s Day.
The collection will instead take place on Saturday.
If there are any delays, residents have been told to leave their bins and containers out for the following day.
All other waste, recycling, garden and food waste collections will continue as normal over the festive period.
Residents are advised to place containers at the kerbside by 7am on the day of collection.
Alternatively, waste can be taken to one of the five household recycling centres in Greenbank Crescent, Pitmedden Road, Perwinnes Moss, Sclattie and Grove.
The centres will be closed on New Year’s Day but open as normal at other times.
Aberdeen City Council will also begin its Christmas tree recycling scheme on Wednesday. Trees will be collected from the kerbside on brown bin collection days between then and January 19.
If you do not have a brown bin, trees are to be left at the kerbside on the appropriate collection day.
Trees can also be recycled at any of the household waste recycling centres.
Winter opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10am-4.45pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am-4.45pm.
