Emergency services were alerted to the fire – at a house in Blairs, near Maryculter – at about 5am. Four appliances, including a water carrier, were initially needed at the scene due to access problems. At its peak, 16 firefighters battled the blaze but this has now been scaled back to just one appliance. A fire and rescue service spokesman said there were not thought to be any injuries as a result of the incident.
