A police statement has also been issued showing the conditions on the worst hit country roads. Please note, some roads are still being to be assessed and this may take some time. There is also a great deal of work being undertaken to clear debris from routes so please be patient while this is done. Police are currently advising that the public avoid travelling to Ballater, if possible. The A93, route to Ballater from the east, has a lot of debris on the road, but it is “passable with care.” The A93 Crathie-Invercauld is passable, but closed east of Crathie and at Invercauld. There is some debris on the A93 south of Braemar, but it is passable. South Deeside Road, Dinnet to Ballater is not passable and is blocked by debris. The A939 and B976 Gairnshiel are being checked – we will update when the conditions are known.
