The blaze, at Alastrean House in Tarland, took hold at about 3.50pm. Staff at the home were forced to move 42 residents to one wing of the home which was unaffected by the fire. At its peak, there were nine appliances at the scene, with crews from across the area battling to get the blaze under control. A spokesman for the fire and rescue service said there were no injuries as a result of the blaze. One unit is still at the site this morning with firefighters still dampening down.
