The 37 elderly residents of Bonty Court have been moved by Aberdeenshire Council to a rest centre at Aboyne Academy. Firefighters were called to assist with the rescue after water entered the sheltered housing complex. Aberdeenshire council say the evacuation is not due to flooding from the Dee.
