More rain on the way for north-east as Met Office issues weather warning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain today across the north-east.

Heavy rain is expected throughout the day and in areas above 350-400m, snow is also expected.

The forecaster warned that after this weeks persistent and heavy rain  there remains a risk of ongoing disruption from flooding.

The wet weather should ease by tomorrow however higher ground will experience showers.

Heavy and prolonged rain is predicted for Thursday.
