Police make statement about Ballater flood ‘looting’

Police Scotland have released a statement in the hopes of quelling rumours that looters have targeted properties in Ballater.

The Police were thought to be responding to speculative commentary being espoused on social media that heartless thieves were stealing from the homes of currently displaced residents.

The police statement said: “We are aware of local speculation about thefts from flood affected properties in Ballater on Deeside.

“These rumours are completely unfounded and there has been no evidence of any such incidents.”
