A search and rescue helicopter undergoing maintenance work sparked a full emergency at AberdeenĀ airport yesterday.
The Bond-operated L2 chopper was on a test flight when the pilot reported a potential problem with the aircraft shortly after 2pm.
Fire crews were called to the scene as a precaution and were stood down after the helicopter landed safely at about 2.20pm.
A Bond Offshore Helicopter spokesman said: āWe can confirm that during a routine maintenance procedure at Aberdeen Airport the crew of an L2 aircraft reported a possible technical issue. Emergency services were alerted as a routine precaution but were not required.
āThe aircraft is a search and rescue helicopter and there were no passengers on-board. It was not operational.ā
The helicopter is now being examined by engineers.
