The Aberdeen lifeboat was today dispatched to Ballater to assist in restoring more power to the area that had been lost due to the horrendous flooding caused by Storm Frank.
The Aberdeen team, as well as RNLI teams from Peterhead, Broughty Ferry, Montrose and Arbroath all supplied specialised rockets to help fire cables across the swollen River Dee, to help Scottish Hydro re-connect the electricity supply.
Ballater has been one of the communities hit hardest by the recent flooding across the north-east of Aberdeenshire, with many homes severely damaged by floodwaters.
