Police have urged members of the public to be vigilant after residents in the north-east had a number of different vehicles stolen earlier this week.
A house on Panmure Way in Potterton was targeted on Monday and thieves made off with a black Porsche 911 and an orange KTM motorcycle, in addition to two mountain bikes and other personal items.
The Porsche was subsequently recovered in Newmachar yesterday, but police are continuing with their inquiries.
Elsewhere, on Monday, a property in Edmonside in Pitmedden was also targeted where a bicycle was stolen.
And a motorcycle was taken from a shed in Turriff on the same day.
Chief Inspector Richard Craig urged members of the public to be on high alert.
He said: “It is disappointing to see that properties have been targeted in Potterton, Pitmedden and Turriff.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have any knowledge or who has seen anything suspicious to contact police.
“While the incidents all happened on Monday, we are keeping an open mind as to whether they may be linked.
“We would like to reassure the community that we are following up inquiries in relation to these incidents and will make every effort to find those responsible.
“In the meantime, we would ask that you take every step you can to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of opportunistic thieves.
“Think about installing an alarm and always make sure that high value goods are left out of sight and that windows and doors are locked.”
“We also ask that if you see anything unusual or suspicious in your neighbourhood, you contact police on 101.”
