Two men have denied murdering an Aberdeen dad at a pre-trial hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Ryan Gibb and Cameron Laurie appeared accused of fatally attacking James Chadwick.
The charges include a claim that Mr Chadwick was repeatedly struck with a dog lead or similar item.
Prosecutors also allege he was punched, pushed, kicked and stamped.
The attack is thought to have happened at a property in Holland Street, Aberdeen, on August 31 and September 1 last year.
The men also faced a charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice by contacting emergency services to claim a male had been attacked by ‘unknown assailants’ elsewhere in Holland Street.
The men appeared before Judge Lady Scott, pleading not guilty.
A trial date has been set for June at the High Court in Edinburgh.
