Work on an Aberdeen independent school’s new engineering and science centre is continuing.
Albyn School has contracted with Robertson Timber Engineering to supply timber frame solutions for its brand new base for teaching engineering and other technology-related subjects.
Work on the development, which will overlook Queen’s Lane South and consist of two classrooms, complete with laboratory facilities, began in December.
Dr Ian Long, the school’s headmaster, said the firm had been a huge asset to the school of nearly 800 pupils.
He said: “Robertson Eastern has aided the school in multi-million pound projects including new science laboratories, an atrium redevelopment, and an award-winning reception area that together have transformed Albyn School over the past 10 years.
“Robertson Eastern has been a huge asset to Albyn School and it is always a pleasure working together and we look forward to continuing working on more projects in the future.”
Last year, offshore industry doyen and entrepreneur Sir Ian Wood and the Wood Foundation pledged a £500,000 donation to the project, which is expected to be completed in time for summer.
