An arrest warrant has been issued after an Aberdeen man, who allegedly abused and assaulted a man based on his religion, didn’t turn up to his court date.
Lewis Guyan, of 152 B Union Street, was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
It is alleged the 27-year-old grabbed a Muslim man on September 27 last year and tried to burn him with a cigarette at the Iceland supermarket on Great Northern Road.
He is further accused of behaving in a threatening manner and abusing the man with remarks of a racial nature while trying to block his path.
Sheriff Stirling issued the warrant yesterday after Guyan’s no-show.
