Police, ambulance and fire crews were alerted to the accident, on the A96 Aberdeen to Inverurie road, at Chapel of Stoneywood, just before 5pm. Three fire engines from Central and North Anderson Drive, with 13 firefighters on board, and four ambulances were at the scene. Fire crews had to cut one man from his car and he has now been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and is in a life-threatening condition. Meanwhile, another man is described as being in a serious condition, with two more men in a minor condition. All three have been taken to ARI. The road is currently closed westbound at the Aberdeen Airport roundabout. Police have set up a contraflow on the eastbound carriageway with traffic able to pass in both directions. Police are advising people to seek alternative routes.
