Police have praised the “impeccable” behaviour of Dons fans who attended last weekend’s  clash with Ross County in Dingwall.

Police Scotland’s Highland and Islands Division said that despite freezing conditions and more than 4,000 people in attendance, the match passed without incident in or outside the stadium.

Match commander Superintendent Colin Gough said: “Sunday’s match was an excellent example of football passion, with no disruption or adverse incidents reported.

“That is a testament to the supporters both home and away. Officers in attendance worked closely with club staff and engaged with fans throughout the match. All fans have behaved impeccably and allowed our officers to police the day with a smile on their faces.

“I would also like to acknowledge the work of both football clubs who have been diligent in their preparation to make this fixture as safe and successful as it has been.

“Despite the wintery conditions there were no major traffic issues, due to fans considering their travel options and planning well in advance but equally I would like to thank the general motoring public who may have been held up momentarily to allow the safe access and egress of pedestrians and vehicle to and from the Global Energy Stadium.”
