A man has denied attacking a police officer in an Aberdeen graveyard on Christmas Day.
Robert Wolfgang Burnside appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday facing five charges, all alleged to have been committed on December 25.
It is alleged Burnside, of Flat E, 1 Manor Walk, Aberdeen, behaved in a threatening and abusive manner at the St Nicholas churchyard on Union Street, by shouting and swearing and acting at an aggressive manner.
It is alleged when police tried to arrest him, he lashed out obstructing four officers as they were carrying out their duty.
It is further alleged he attempted to butt and kick one of the officers while in the church yard, and after he had arrived at Kittybrewster Police Station.
The 27-year-old is also charged with being in possession of cannabis, a class B drug, while at the police station on Great Northern Road,
Burnside denies the charges and will go on trial later this year.
