A north-east playschool has been given top marks across the board by care inspectors.
Dales Park School’s in-house nursery was reviewed by the Care Inspectorate late last year, and now their report has highlighted its “excellent” care.
In the 30-page report, inspectors say they were impressed by the mood of the children who attend the nursery and the effort the staff make to know their clients.
Across the board, for the quality of the school’s care, environment, staffing and management, the service was branded “excellent” – the highest mark available.
The inspectors said in their report: “We found this service was performing at an excellent level in enabling the children to make choices and be supported to achieve their potential.
“The warm and nurturing atmosphere in the nursery was reflected in the children’s interactions and enjoyment of the activities. They were engaged in their learning and played well together.”
Parents who send their children to the playschool were also quizzed about their thoughts on the service it provides.
Comments made included their confidence that children were happy at the pre-school and that the quality of care was “good”.
One said: “I was very nervous putting my child to school, I was worried in case he did not like it or make friends and was going to be very shy and reserved with staff. Dales Park has exceeded my expectations and my child has come on a lot with his skills.
“I wouldn’t put my child to any other school, Dales Park has set the standard of care at a very high level.”
The nursery was last reviewed in December 2008 when it was graded “very good”.
