Police have released the identity of the man who died as a result of a crash on the A96 at Colpy.
The pedestrian, who was struck by two cars, was 83 year old Ernest Tough.
The collision happened at 5:25pm on Wednesday January 20.
A police statement said: “The 83 year old man, who was a pedestrian, was found to have been struck by two vehicles. Sadly he died from his injuries at the scene. His family have been informed.”
The occupants of the cars involved, a white Vauxhall Astra and a red Renault Megane, were shocked but otherwise uninjured.
A police statement added: “Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
Sergeant Malcolm Kinross of the Divisional Road Policing Unit said:
“At this sad time our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the male involved. This was a distressing incident and those who witnessed it have been deeply affected.”
“Although we have spoken to a number of people so far, I would urge anyone who was on the A96 road around this time near Colpy to contact us so we can help piece together exactly what has happened. Similarly, anyone who may have seen the pedestrian beforehand is urged to get in touch with Police via 101.”
