A man has been fined after he assaulted two police officers outside an Inverurie nightclub.
Dean Addison admitted pushing the two officers, and acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards them, when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Fiscal deputy Katy Begg said Addison, of 30 Market Square, Oldmeldrum, had been on a night out with friends when a scuffle broke out with another group of revellers.
They were thrown out of the club and the row spilled out onto nearby Market Place, the court heard.
Constables Aidan Bowie and Robert Graham were on patrol nearby and witnessed a stand-off between the two groups.
The court heard the officers went to intervene at which point Addison became aggressive and began shouting and swearing at Constable Bowie.
The 20-year-old then shoved the officer in the chest and tried to run away.
The court heard that Addison continued to be aggressive and pushed another officer.
Defence agent Mike Monro said the row was sparked after Addison’s partner was punched and pushed over a table.
However, he said his client accpeted he had lost his temper and was apologetic about his behiavour.
Sheriff William Taylor fined Addison £300.
