Police chiefs have hailed an operation to crack down on drug dealing in the north-east as a success.
In the last four months, officers have seized more than £30,000 worth of substances and £20,000 of cash in the area.
Operation Banook was launched last October with the aim of tackling criminals based in England heading to the area to deal drugs.
Since then, a total of 50 drug search warrants have been carried out, alongside a further four evidential search warrants in and around Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Elgin.
During these raids, heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis was seized and a total of 29 people have subsequently been charged.
The operation has also targeted Crimond and St Combs.
Detective Sergeant Stuart McAdam said: “We are very happy with the way the operation has gone.
“We have had an increase in intelligence from members of the public and have since taken a significant amount of action.
“When we are made aware of instances of drug dealing from members of the public, we will always take action, because we are determined to make this a safe place to live and work.”
Speaking shortly after the operation was launched, he urged members of the public to report anything suspicious.
He said: “I would encourage anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant they may feel it is to contact Police Scotland.
“That piece of information may be vital to our inquiries and help us greatly.
“We often find that members of the public are reluctant to come forward with information, but this is dealt with in the strictest of confidence and can also be reported anonymously.”
