A street in Aberdeen city centre has been closed for more than four hours after a woman was hit by a car earlier this evening.
Police are appealing for information regarding the incident which took place at around 7.10pm at the junction between Bridge Street and Wapping Street and involved a black Mitsubishi L200.
The woman has now been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The male driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Sergeant Malcolm Kinross, from the divisional roads policing unit, said:
“Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch”.
“The road will be closed whilst investigations take place.”
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 101.
