British Judo Champion Theo Spalding-McIntosh made a special visit to an Aberdeen school this week to show off some of his moves to pupils.
The four-times British champion who is also a Commonwealth gold and silver medallist led a question and answer session at Albyn School on Monday before demonstrating a body throw, with the help of teacher Zibby Brown.
The pupils also partook in a circuit session with Theo and pupil Gregor Mcleod – who is a black belt in karate – managed to successfully knock Theo to the ground.
Mr Paul Bertolotto, head of the lower school said: “Theo Spalding inspired the children to understand that if you set challenging, but achievable goals, you can reach your goal and develop all sorts of new challenges for yourself.
“Through reflection upon his own life experiences Theo displayed to the children that learning can often be difficult and hard work.
“However he also demonstrated that if you invest in something and you work to your best ability that you can achieve great things.”
