Police are appealing for information after a window was smashed a north-east secondary school.
Mintlaw Academy, on Station Road, is believed to have been vandalised between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 27.
Inspector Simon Reid has now appealed for members of the public to come forward with information to help catch those responsible.
“Whether the intention was to break in and steal items or this was simply a mindless act of vandalism towards an important community facility, this is unacceptable,” he said.
“Those responsible have shown a total disregard for the impact and upset this will have caused pupils and staff, not to mention the wider community.
“I would urge anyone who has any information that might assist our enquiries, whether you saw anything suspicious or suspect you may know who is responsible, please come forward. Don’t assume that someone else may have already told us.”

Last night, a spokesman for Aberdeenshire Council confirmed that the broken window has since been repaired.
