Police have launched a fresh appeal for potential witnesses to a rape in Union Terrace Gardens which took place last week.
Last week a forensic team carried out investigations on the scene and officers traced a man they believed could help with inquiries.
Now police want to speak to a group consisting of five men and one woman who were seen leaving a fast food joint on Belmont Street at around 3.10 last Thursday before heading to Union Terrace Gardens.
They are believed to be students and a described as follows:
The first man is tall with a slim build, with sandy or light brown hair wearing blue jeans with a bleached effect and a light blue or white shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
The second man is described a short with dark hair wearing dark trousers and a blue or grey short sleeved top.
The third man has a tall with dark hair wearing dark trousers, a black top and a black jacket.
The fourth man is described as being average height with medium length dark hair wearing grey trousers and a black hooded top.
The final man is described as being average height with dark hair wearing grey jeans, a light top as well as a green or khaki jacket.
The woman in question is short with dark hair wearing dark trousers and a black top, and appeared to have been holding hands with the fifth man described.
Detective Inspector Jacqui Campbell said: “We are looking to trace these individuals, as they may have information that could assist our inquiry.
They are seen to walk up Belmont Street and towards His Majesty’s Theatre, before turning past the Wallace statue towards Union Terrace Gardens.
“They may have seen or heard something in the area and we’d ask anyone matching these descriptions, who was in this area after 3am on Thursday morning, to come forward.”
