An Aberdeenshire fundraiser has had his efforts to aid local flood victims supported by the prime minister.
Bill Hopkins has helped arrange the darts night, which will be held at Kemnay Hall on February 26 to raise much-needed cash towards the restoration of communities severely damaged by the recent floods.
Exhibition dart players, including Scottish International Captain Ross Montgomery and Scottish international Craig Robertson will take part in the event.
There will also be an auction, with items ranging from a boxing glove signed by Ken Buchanan to two bottles of whisky signed and donated by Prime Minister David Cameron.
It comes after Mr Hopkins met Mr Cameron during his visit to Aberdeen last week, where he heard about the group’s fundraising efforts.
All money raised will go to the Inverurie Round Table, who will distribute it to flood victims in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Although all 200 tickets have been sold, organisers are still encouraging people to bid for auction items via their Flood Relief Darts Exhibition Facebook page.
Mr Hopkins said: “”I’ve been overwhelmed by the level of support we have received from all quarters.”
“I’m looking forward to the event and hope that even those who might not be able to make it will submit bids for our excellent range of auction items and contribute to this important campaign.”
