A north-east Indian restaurant is among 10 Scottish businesses that have been “named and shamed” by the UK Government.
The Department for Business Innovation and Skills yesterday released a list of 92 employers throughout the UK who have broken minimum pay rules.
The arrears owned by the companies to their staff has been calculated to be over £1.8million.
Business minister Nick Boles last night said there was “no excuse” for failing to pay staff properly.
Among the Scottish businesses on the list was Broch Tandoori, which trades as the B Raj Tandoori in Fraserburgh’s High Street.
The restaurant failed to pay £193.46 to five employees.
Mr Boles said: “Our policy of naming and shaming employers who ignore the law means there are consequences for their reputation as well as their wallets.
“In April we will introduce a new National Living Wage which will mean a pay rise of over £900-a-year for someone working full time on the minimum wage and we will enforce this equally robustly.”
