Two fire crews were called to the scene opposite Marks and Spencer at 12.15pm to extinguish the flames. A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “Fire-fighters battled the blaze with the help of breathing apparatus as well as a foam filled power-hose. “The fire was eventually put out around 3.20pm and no one was injured in the blaze.” The cause of the fire is still unknown.
