Police are hunting thieves after a spate of crimes in an Aberdeen community.
Three opportunistic thefts took place in the Clova Park and Broaddykes Place areas of Kingswells between Monday and Tuesday this week.
Two mountain bikes, worth a high three-figure sum, were taken from an unlocked garage at Clova Park between midnight and 6am on Tuesday. One is a man’s Carrera Vengeance, and the other a woman’s Giant LivRov 3.
A Nikon satnav was also taken from an insecure car on the same street between 4.45pm on Monday and 8.30am on Tuesday. Meanwhile, another property at Broaddykes Place was entered at around 4am on Tuesday and a small amount of food was taken.
Constable Peter Armitage, who is leading the investigation, has appealed for anyone with information to come forward – and issued some safety advice to residents.
He said: “It only takes a few minutes – sometimes seconds – to enter your home, car or garage to steal valuables. The results, however, can cause immeasurable distress.
“I would urge people to ensure their doors are locked even when they are home, and to keep expensive equipment from view.
“Please do not take the security of your belongings for granted.”
Anyone with information about the thefts is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
