The Met Office has issued a warning of snow and ice for Grampian this weekend.
A Yellow warning, meaning be aware, has been put out for Aberdeenshire and Moray from 12.05am on Saturday until 11am on Sunday.
The forecaster said: “Frequent, often heavy showers of sleet, snow and hail will affect much of northern Scotland during the weekend.
“The heaviest snowfall will be over high ground where drifting is possible in the strong westerly winds but very little snow is expected on the immediate western coasts.
“Ice may also develop on any untreated surfaces during the overnight and early morning periods.
“Please be aware that there could be some difficult travelling conditions over the weekend, especially over the higher routes.”
