On Saturday, about 5.40pm, a man entered the Carmelite Hotel on Stirling Street just before a staff night out. Officers were called to the hotel after the hotel operators discovered that items had been stolen from a secure location in the business. A police spokesman said that the thief did not break into the hotel, but did get his hands on some items. He said: “It looks like it was a locker or lockers within the building that were broken into, not the building itself. “Some possessions were stolen, but I can’t say what they are. “Inquiries are still ongoing.”
