Crash and lorry ‘having traction trouble’ causing delays on A90

Reports are coming in that a major north-east road is blocked after a crash.

The A90 in Balmedie is partially blocked and there is slow traffic northbound at the B977 junction.

Police are on the scene directing traffic and awaiting recovery as the vehicle is being described as “unmoveable”.

No one was injured in the crash which involved one vehicle.

A police spokesperson also warned motorists travelling toward Ellon that an articulated lorry caught up in the delays was struggling to maintain traction on the road due to ice.

The spokesperson added: “It’s adding to the delays.”
