An Aberdeenshire road has been closed this evening following a collision between a lorry and a car.
Police, ambulance and fire teams are currently at the scene of the incident on the A947 Turiff to Banff road, just north of Turiff at the Castleton Junction.
The accident took place just before 6pm.
The injuries sustained by the occupants of the vehicles has been described as not serious, however two people were left trapped inside their vehicles and had to be freed by fire teams using hydraulic equipment.
As a result of the crash, the route is currently closed, with northbound traffic being diverted on the B9105 Turiff to Craigston road, and southbound motorists being diverted along the A98 Macduff to New Pitsligo road.
UPDATE: The road has now been reopened.
