Police have asked for the public’s help in tracking down a young man who has gone missing from an Aberdeenshire town.
Jamie Alexander – aka James Mackenzie – was last seen at a guest house on the High Street in Banchory at around 9pm on the night of Tuesday February 23.
Mr Alexander is described as being around 5ft 10in in eight, with a slim build and wearing a black jacket with black tracksuit trousers when he was last seen.
Police are particularly interested in any information the public can provide about a man who was seen in two of the town centre hotels in Banchory around this time.
The man the police are seeking in relation to the search for Mr Alexander was described similarly, but may have been carrying a camouflage-type jacket.
He was seen to leave one of the premises at about 9.30pm, and his current wherabouts are unknown.
A police statement read: “Jamie is known to sleep wherever he can and given the current low overnight temperatures, concerns are being raised for his wellbeing.
“Police Scotland are appealing to anyone who may have seen Jamie or who may have information regarding Jamie’s wherabouts to contact them on 101 or to provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
