A total of 13 jobs will be lost as a result of Flybe's withdrawal from the Shetland routes
A medical emergency was declared on a flight heading from Aberdeen to London today.
The Flybe aircraft departed from Aberdeen International Airport at 12:30pm and was less than an hour into its journey when the crew sent out a distress call.
The Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft had been scheduled to arrive at London City at 2:30pm.
But it ended up diverting to Manchester Airport, where it was given a priority landing.
A spokesman for the airport confirmed that the plane landed safely shortly before 1:30pm.
