Moped crash causes huge tailbacks

A moped and a car were involved in a crash on an Aberdeenshire road earlier this afternoon.

The collision took place on Elphinstone Road, at Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, at around 3.45pm.

The crash between the moped and a black Peugeot 308 is said to have happened outside the town’s Bridge Bar.

A police spokesman said: “The moped rider has cuts to his hands suffered from shock. We were told at about 3.40pm.”

There were no road closures, but traffic was congested whilst the crash site was cleared.

Traffic on the road was flowing normally by 5.30pm.

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We did attend but were not required.”
