A man was taken to hospital yesterday following a fire at a property in the Ferryhill area of Aberdeen.
The call was made to the emergency services just before 3pm after smoke was seen coming out of a flat on Fonthill Avenue.
Police, ambulance and fire services were all sent to the scene to attend the kitchen fire on the ground floor.
Paramedics discovered two people had smoke inhalation, and took one to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary while the other was treated at the scene.
The blaze was extinguished by 14 firefighters using a hosereel, six breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “There were two casualties with smoke inhalation who were treated at the scene.”
A spokesman for the ambulance service added that one male casualty was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Later in the evening, fire crews were called to a blaze at a flat on Hilton Drive.
The call was made at around 7.45pm and two units were sent to the scene.
The stop message came back just before 8pm and crews left shortly after.
A fire spokeswoman said: “We were called to a fire at a flat in Hilton Drive.
“There were no injuries.”
