A feast of jazz, blues, funk and soul are on the menu at a four-hour musical extravaganza in Aberdeen later this month.
Jazz On The Green will be held on March 20 from 1pm, as part of the Aberdeen Jazz Festival.
And after entertaining crowds for four years, and with a cash boost from Aberdeen Inspired, this year’s event will take place on eight stages, with no less than 18 bands set to perform.
The programme includes a diverse assortment of styles, with R&B, swing and big-band music also on the cards at the free event.
Set in Merchant’s Quarter, Belmont Street, Union Square and St Nicholas Street, Jazz On The Green will showcase international, Scottish and top Aberdeen bands.
Neil Gibbons, of Jazz Scotland, said: “We are excited to be able to complement our international festival programme with an expanded Jazz On The Green this year.
“The thrill of the festival is not just hearing stars playing in local venues, but also bringing the joy of jazz to new audiences and Jazz On The Green lets people sample every style from New Orleans to Afrobeat.”
Gary Craig of Aberdeen Inspired added: “It’s already a great favourite for many residents and visitors, and Jazz On The Green showcases how vibrant Aberdeen city centre can be.
“Aberdeen Inspired has increased its support to this event and hopes it will be an even bigger success for the town – benefiting both the public and the city centre businesses.”
