Transport Scotland have announced major traffic diversions in the north east which will last 16 months.
Traffic using North Deeside Road (the A93) will be diverted onto a temporary road from this Saturday, 5 March, for around 16 months.
The temporary diversion is located north of the existing (A93) North Deeside Road and will allow work to be completed on the new bridge which will carry the new (A93) North Deeside Road over the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
A temporary roundabout will also be located at the (B979) Netherley Road/North Deeside Road (A93) junction and traffic lights will be in use during peak times between 6-9.30am and then between 3.30-6pm, Monday to Friday to help manage the flow of traffic.
An AWPR spokesperson said: “The new temporary diversion, which is around 300m in length, and roundabout, will ensure that traffic can continue to use this route while works continue on this significant infrastructure project. The speed limit will remain at 40mph.
“However, we would like to ask road users to drive with more caution than usual, so that they can become accustomed to the new temporary road layout.”
