A north-east child allegedly brought a knife to school this week as jurors took their seats in Aberdeen’s High Court to hear evidence about the death of teenager Bailey Gwynne.
The pupil, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is alleged to have brought the penknife to school on Tuesday, March 1, and shown it to a female classmate.
Police have charged a child in connection with the incident.
The allegation centres around a north-east school, which the Press and Journal cannot name for legal reasons, and was reported to authorities by a parent who claimed on Facebook that her daughter saw the knife.
A spokeswoman for Aberdeenshire Council said that the matter has been discussed with the school’s head teacher.
The incident comes as the trial continues of a teenager who is accused of stabbing 16-year-old Bailey Gwynne in the heart while at Cults Academy last October.
