Man dies after falling ill at Peterhead shipyard

A man has died after he was taken ill at a Peterhead shipyard.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the town’s Seagate at around 1pm.

It is understood the man was taken ill while working aboard the Broadford-registered fishing vessel Asteria BRD-250.

The shipyard was temporarily closed while emergency services attended the scene.

A police spokesman said officers had been called to a suspected “medical matter”. The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.​
