A new photograph of a missing hillwalker has been released by police in the hope it will lead them to fresh clues.
Concerns are growing for James Robertson who has been missing for more than 10 days in the Cairngorms.
Searches have been ongoing for Mr Robertson, known as Jim, who left his home in Glasgow on February 29 for a walking trip in the Cairngorms.
Police yesterday issued a CCTV picture of the 61-year-old at Aberdeen bus taken at 1pm on February 29.
Officers also issued an appeal for anyone who had been staying at Bob Scott’s Bothy near Derry Lodge in Glen Lui on Tuesday, March 1 or the following day to make contact.
Mr Robertson is believed to have been using the bothy, which is around eight miles from Braemar, as a base for day treks into the Cairngorms.
The missing man is an experienced hillwalker who has previously climbed all of Scotland’s Munros.
Police are hoping that anyone who met him last week may be able to help narrow down their area of search.
Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: “Jim is an experienced hillwalker who has been to the Cairngorms before but as time goes on we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“We have no clear indication of the exact route he intended to take so we are appealing to anyone who may have seen him or spoken to him either at the bothy or on the hill to get in touch.”
James is described as being around 5ft 10in tall and of medium build with short grey hair and wearing glasses.
He may also be carrying a large rucksack.
When he was last seen he was wearing dark clothing, walking boots, trousers and a jacket and hat.
He was also wearing his glasses.
Searches were postponed on Tuesday because of high wind and poor weather forecast but …
Anyone with information on James’ whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.
