An Aberdeen woman was fined £200 yesterday after pleading guilty to striking her former partner in the groin.
Ana Beracu, 22, appeared from custody in the city’s Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to assaulting her ex-boyfriend, Iulian Diaconescu.
The court heard that Ms Beracu, of 39 Willowgate Close, had been at her home with her partner when the incident took place on Sunday, March 13.
Sheriff William Taylor was told an argument had broken out between Ms Beracu and Mr Diaconescu in the living room at the address, which resulted in Ms Beracu striking her former lover in the groin, as well as scratching him on the back, neck, and biceps.
Ms Beracu’s solicitor explained to the court the hostilities “heated up” after her client accused Mr Diaconescu of stealing her passport and other documents.
Fiscal depute Lynzi Souter told the court that, following the incident in the living room, Mr Diaconescu decided to start recording what was taking place on a smartphone.
The court heard one of his friends recorded a video of a further attack on Mr Diaconescu in the kitchen, although he did not require medical treatment for his injuries.
Ms Beracu, who is employed as a sales assistant, was fined £200.
