Dive team units were have today searched streams and undergrowth near the house of murdered north-east man as the investigation continues into his murder.
Brian McKandie, 67, was found dead after he was attacked by a heavy weapon in his remote bungalow at Badenscoth, near Rothienorman, two weeks ago.
Detective Chief Inspector Iain Smith today revealed that fields, roads, ditches and waterways were being searched for the murder weapon, while officers were still trying to establish the attacker’s motive.
Chief Inspector Iain Smith was also asked why Mr McKandie’s death was not initially treated as murder. The inspector explained the severity of the injuries and the use of a weapon were not clear until the post mortem was carried out.
